Alone With Her in June

23 April 2008

Stalkers and their victims have formed the basis for a number modern thrillers from Fatal Attraction to Swimfan and have even the basis for Christopher Petit's recent experimental Unrequited Love. Petit's stalking/surveillance crossover is echoed in Eric Nicholas's more narrative-driven Alone With Her, in which a young man named Doug (Colin Hanks) develops his obsession with aspiring artist Amy by planting hidden cameras an listening devices in her home, in the process learning her most intimate secrets and enabling him to manipulate her into a relationship that she innocently permits. Shot entirely on hidden cameras and presented almost solely from Doug's viewpoint, the film has been praised for its inventive approach and the tension it builds as a result.

Alone With Her will effectively be making its UK debut when it is released on DVD here on 2nd June 2008 by Metrodome. Screen ratio and soundtrack information have yet to be confirmed (for the record the US disc has a 1.85:1 picture and Dolby 5.1 sound, which we would expect to see duplicated here), while the only extras listed are a trailer and an alternative ending. The RRP is set at £15.99.
