Last Days of Mussolini in January

Academy Award Winner Rod Steiger (In The Heat Of The Night, On The Waterfront) heads an all star international cast as Italian Prime Minister Benito Mussolini in Carlo Lizzani's Last Days Of Mussolini.

April, 1945, The Third Reich are losing ground during the final months of World War II, fascist dictator Mussolini (Steiger) flees the wrath of his own people and heads for Switzerland with his mistress, Claretta Petacci. Hunted by both the Americans led by Jack Donati, and the partisans, Mussolini is swiftly captured by the freedom fighters and held prisoner on the shores of Lake Como. Mussolini and his lover must endure a night of soul searching before answering for their crimes at dawn.

History comes to life in this explosively tense, sprawling World War II drama also featuring Academy Award winner Henry Fonda (The Grapes Of Wrath), Lino Capolicchio (The House Of Laughing Windows), Umberto Raho (Secrets Of A Call Girl), Luciano Pigozzi (The Whip And The Body) and Franco Nero (Django) with a score composed by Ennio Morricone.

Never before available in the UK on DVD, Last Days Of Mussolini will be released on 26th January 2009 by Eureka Entertainment at the RRP of £17.99, uncut and in a new anamorphic 2.35:1 transfer taken from the original negative. Extra features are:
