The Fifth Commandment in February

16 January 2008

The fifth commandment. That's the one about thou shalt not...erm...move in on thy...ah... Well, I'm sure you all know which one it is, and it's also the title of writer and performer Rick Yune's 2008 actioner, brought to you by the stunt teams behind The Transporter, Mission Impossible III and Ong-bak (well, one out of three ain't too bad). Advance publicity assures us that it's "a high octane, mayhem-packed thriller featuring some of the greatest road and combat action of the decade." Others have been less generous in their comments. I guess the only way to be sure is to check it out.

Holed up on the mean streets of Bangkok, maverick assassin Chance (action icon Rick Yune of Die Another Day and the Wachowski Brothers' Ninja Assassin) turns down a job he feels hits too close to home. But as he prepares to escape from Thailand, he discovers that he himself has been marked as a target. With an innocent would-be victim in tow, Chance must use all his incredible skills as driver, hit-man, fighter and martial artist to escape his pursuers – the most elite members of the profession of which he was once master.

The Fifth Commandment debuts on UK DVD on 23rd February 2009 from Metrodome at the RRP of £15.99. Special Features include:

  • Trailer;
  • The Stunts of The Fifth Commandment featurette;
  • The Making of The Fifth Commandment featurette.
