The Myth Blu-ray and 2-disc DVD in May

10 March 2009

Action movie superstar Jackie Chan and Hong Kong director Stanley Tong reunite for their first collaboration in a decade since their Rumble In The Bronx and Jackie Chan's First Strike with the 2005 The Myth, a multi-period action-comedy that combines sci-fi, martial arts and historical fantasy in one spectacular adventure.

Chan stars as Jack, an intrepid and world-renowned archaeologist who has begun having dreams of a past life as a warrior in ancient China. When a fellow scientist asks for Jack's help in locating the mausoleum of China's first emperor, the past collides violently with the present as he discovers his amazing visions are based in fact. During their quest they discover an ancient sword and a magical gemstone that can defy the laws of gravity.

Assisted by the spirit of a noble princess, Jack continues to follow a mystical trail that eventually leads to the 2,000-year-old shrine but soon finds him battling the forces of the legendary emperor, as well as the henchmen of a modern-day tomb raider. As Jack stands on the brink of uncovering history's greatest secret he must also prepare to face the revelation of his own destiny.

Following New Police Sory, Jackie Chan continues his return to vitage form on home turf, combining his talent for comedy with his still-impressive martial arts skills (just check out the movie's "glue factory" factory sequence, which is both breathtaking and hilarious) in a fast paced action-adventure that may not be classic Chan, but has still found favour with the stars fans.
