My Father, My Lord on DVD in April

17 March 2010

Anchored with his wife and son in the very orthodox Haredic community of Jerusalem, Rabbi Abraham devotes his life to the study of Torah and Jewish Law. His son Menahem is of an age where he absorbs the world around him as a place of wonder. He does not resist but follows listlessly as his father leads him along the straight and narrow path that must be pursued by men of faith. But Abraham's guidance can count for only so much in the scheme of the universe. On a summer vacation to the Dead Sea, his faith is put to the test.

My Father, My Lord (Hofshat Kaits) is the debut feature of writer-director David Volach and stars Assi Dayan (son of the legendary General Moshe Dayan), who is one of the most prominent and controversial Israeli actor/directors and whose role in this film has been hailed as the defining one of his career. The film was a Best Director and Best Cinematography winner at the 2006 Israeli Film Festival and the Best Narrative Feature winner the following year at Tribeca.

My Father, My Lord will be released on UK DVD on 12th April 2010 by Artificial Eye at the RRP of £15.99. We'll update this story later today regarding extras.
