Lemon Popsicle on DVD in July

10 June 2010

In 1950's Israel, 3 young men only have one thing on their minds. The boys, searching for their first sexual experiences, encounter middle-aged nymphomaniacs and prostitutes. Then things become more serious. Bentzi, shy and introspective, falls in love with a cute girl named Nili. However Nili is in love with Momo, and when Momo gets Nili pregnant and then dumps her, Bentzi agrees to stay at home during summer vacation to arrange an abortion.

Featuring an outstanding soundtrack that includes songs by Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Bill Haley and the Comets and The Chordettes, and a string of memorable characters, the 1978, Boaz Davidson-directed Lemon Popsicle (Eskimo Limon) is a touching blend of drama and sex-comedy that was Golden Globe nominated and whose popularity on home turf prompted a total of eight sequels, plus a 1982 American remake as The Last American Virgin.

Lemon Popsicle will be released on UK DVD on 5th July 2010 by Arrow Films at the RRP of £12.99. No extras have been listed.
