Afterwards on DVD in July

19 July 2010

Nathan is a successful New York attorney who leads a life of professional success and achievement. Although he excels in his work, he is haunted by his past as the survivor of a childhood near-death experience and an adult witness to his own child's death. As a result of these crises, Nathan now suffers from a bad case of familial estrangement from his wife (Evangeline Lilly) and little girl.

This routine continues, until he meets Doctor Kay, (John Malkovich) who introduces himself as a 'messenger'. Kay claims that he has the ability to know when people are about to die, with his purpose on earth to help individuals put their life in order before it's too late. Unimpressed by these claims, it is not until Nathan witnesses some disturbing scenes that the doctor's story is confirmed. A race against the clock develops as Nathan tries to put his life in order before it's too late.

Starring Academy Award-nominee John Malkovich, Evangeline Lilly (TV's Lost, The Hurt Locker) and Romain Duris (The Beat That My Heart Skipped, Exiles), Afterwards is a gripping psychological thriller about a lost soul, the ruins of his life and a sinister stranger offering redemption, but at what cost?

Directed and co-written by relative newcomer Gilles Bourdos, Afterwards will be released on UK DVD on 5th July 2010 by Optimum Home Entertainment at the RRP of £15.99. The extra features and DVD cover art have yet to be confirmed.
