The Sword With No Name on DVD and Blu-ray in September

4 August 2010

When a young woman of noble birth embarks on a dangerous cross-country journey, she encounters an infamous bounty hunter who, honour-bound, becomes her protector and, against all odds, falls deeply in love with her. A few years later, in order to fulfil a sacred promise, she enters the royal court and ascends to the throne as Empress, leaving behind the man who would willingly and unconditionally give her his all. However, when aggressive Japanese forces gather against the Empress and her nation, the bounty hunter finds a way to once again stand by her side as a devoted bodyguard. As the conflict escalates to all-out war, her irrepressible leadership manages to sustain her people and to give them the hope of victory. But tragically, as her reputation spreads, she becomes a target for assassination and only one man's courage will provide her with the strength to face her destiny.

From Kim Yong-gyun, the acclaimed director of the hit South Korean horror movie The Red Shoes (Bunhongsin), comes a lush historical epic, The Sword With No Name (Bool-kkott-cheo-reom na-bi-cheo-reom), in which he brilliantly blends dazzling swordplay action, political intrigue, tragedy and romance to tell the story of one of Korea's most legendary and controversial national heroines, the Empress Myeongseong.

The Sword With No Name (cert. 15) will be released on DVD (£17.99) and Blu-ray (£24.99) by Cine Asia on 20th September 2010. The release will have Dolby Digital Korean 2.0 and 5.1 audio options plus DTS HD Master Audio Korean 5.1 audio option (Blu-ray only). Special Features will include:
