Italian mafioso drama Salvo on DVD in September

6 September 2014

An assassin for the Sicilian mafia, Salvo is solitary, cold and ruthless. Ordered to eliminate a rival clan, he encounters Rita, a beautiful blind girl who stands powerless whilst over hearing her brother’s murder.

Driven by adrenaline and fear, Rita tries to escape and against his violent instincts, Salvo decides to spare her life – a decision that puts both of them in perilous danger.

The feature dabut of writer-directors Fabio Grassadonia and Antonio Piazza and developed from their 2009 short film Rita, Salvo has been described by Eye for Film as "impressively nuanced, mature cinema from two directors with little feature film experience behind them" and Variety as a "moody and extremely sensorial debut." It stars Saleh Bakri (Salt of the Sea), Luigi Lo Cascio (The Best of Youth) and Sara Serraiocco (Rita).

Salvo will be released on UK DVD on 29th September 2014 by Peccadillo Pictures at the RRP of £15.99.

The disc will have the following extras:

  • Short film: Rita
  • Interview with directors and cast
  • Behind the scenes
