The Duke of Burgundy on DVD and Blu-ray in April

3 March 2015

In an unnamed European town, in an unspecified year, live Cynthia and Evelyn. Every day Evelyn cycles to Cynthia’s mansion to work as a lowly maid – and every day the cruel, vindictive Cynthia inflicts countless sadistic humiliations upon her. But as the days go by and the pair begin to reveal themselves, it soon becomes clear that the humiliation may not all be of Cynthia’s design…

Startling, stylish and heady with atmosphere, The Duke of Burgundy is a dazzling exploration of romance, relationships and desire from Peter Strickland, the multi-award winning director of Berberian Sound Studio. Laden with wit and brimming with filmic references, it was championed by Little White Lies as "A tied up and twisted masterpiece" and CineVue as "An intoxicating study of passion."

The Duke of Burgundy will be released on UK DVD and Blu-ray on 27th April 2015 by Artificial Eye at the RRP of £15.99 for the DVD and £19.99 for the Blu-ray.

Extra features have yet to be confirmed, so here's a trailer while you're waiting.
