Documentary feature Salt of the Earth on Blu-ray and DVD in September

5 August 2015

For the last 40 years acclaimed photographer Sebastião Salgado has travelled the world, tracing the footsteps of an ever-changing humanity. He has witnessed and documented many of the major events of our times, taking in wars, famine, genocide and exodus. But now he is embarking on a new journey: to discover pristine territories, grandiose landscapes and wild nature as part of a huge photographic tribute to the planet’s beauty.

Salgado’s accomplished, moving work and his inspirational life are revealed to us in the documentary feature The Salt of the Earth, made by his son, Juliano, and world-renowned filmmaker Wim Wenders, himself an avid photographer. Powerful, affecting and truly profound, it is not just a portrait of a great artist but one of life itself.

The film has been nominated for Best Documentary, Feature in the 2015 Academy Awards and was a multiple winner at Cannes in 2014 and won the Best Documentary Film at this year's César Awards.

Described by Little White Lies as "a sumptuous docu portrait of photographer Sebastião Salgado" and CineVue as "a glowing tribute to a committed and admirable artist," The Salt of the Earth will be released on UK Blu-ray and DVD on 14th September 2015 by Curzon Artificial Eye at the RRP of £19.99 for the Blu-ray and £15.99 for the DVD.

The only extra feature confirmed is a trailer. A bit like this one here...
