Callan: This Man Alone documentary comes to UK DVD in November

26 October 2015

A brand new, feature-length documentary about one of television's most highly regarded series, Callan, has been produced by independent distributor Network and will be released in November as part of a well featured, 3-disc DVD set.

Featuring a remarkable central performance from Edward Woodward, Callan grew from a cult favourite into one of Britain's favourite shows. Nearly ten years in the making, this documentary tells the story of the iconic series’ creation and development, its success on television and extended life in film and books.

Narrated by Edward Woodward's son Peter, This Man Alone features contributions from Peter Mitchell (the son of Callan creator James Mitchell), Reginald Collin (producer), Mike Vardy (director), James Goddard (director), Piers Haggard (director), Patrick Mower (actor), Trevor Preston (writer) and more.

Special features include new, improved transfers of two previously released episodes, the complete recording block for the episode The Worst Soldier I Ever Saw, and The Edward Woodward Hour – a Thames TV light entertainment special starring Edward Woodward, previously unreleased on DVD in the UK.

Callan: This Man Alone will be released in the UK as a 3-disc DVD set on 30th November 2015 exclusively through networkonair.com for £30, and is available to pre-buy now for £25 (conditions apply – see networkonair.com for full details).
