A collection of six horror and thriller titles coming to Arrow Blu-ray in May

2 March 2020

This May’s Arrow Video releases include a berserk B-movie VHS favourite, the debut of a US sci-fi mindbender, a freshly unearthed 80s creature feature, a collector’s edition of two superb American indie horrors, and a superior, twist-packed crime chiller. The films are beautifully presented on Blu-ray, along with newly-filmed interviews, commentaries, and a whole host of extras including never-before seen documentaries and short films, as well as posters, booklets and reversible sleeves.

First off in May is White Fire, starring exploitation legends Robert Ginty and Fred Williamson. It’s time to ‘Walk a mile in someone else’ in Empathy, Inc, a tech thriller starring Zack Robdis, Kathy Searle, Eric Berryman and Jay Klaitz. Terror strikes in paradise in Blood Tide, as Academy Award-winning actors James Earl Jones, José Ferrer and Lila Kedrova star in this thrilling tale of sea monsters and sacrificial virgins. Next up in May is a double dose of good and grimy horror, with a Limited Edition release of The Woman and Offspring. Dream Demon, long dormant on home media since its original VHS release, has at long-last been stirred from its analogue slumber thanks to Arrow Video, and arrives on Blu-ray, newly-restored from the original camera negative and in a brand new Director’s Cut. Finally in May comes I See You, a new twist-heavy thriller from up-and-coming British director Adam Randall.

Bo’s plan hits an unexpected snag with the arrival of smooth-talking badass Noah Barclay, played by Fred Williamson (From Dusk ‘Til Dawn). The Woman / Offsprint Blu-ray cover art

THE WOMAN/OFFSPRING (2011/2009) | Limited Edition Blu-ray | 18 May 2020 | £24.99

Almost a decade after Lucky McKee burst upon the indie horror scene and became a ‘Master of Horror’ in the making thanks to his directorial debut May, he teamed up with legendary cult author Jack Ketchum for his most shocking and brutal film to date: The Woman, an instant cause célèbre on its Sundance premiere.

The Woman (Pollyanna McIntosh, The Walking Dead) is the last surviving member of a deadly clan of feral cannibals that has roamed the American wilderness for decades. When successful country lawyer Chris Cleek (Sean Bridgers, Room) stumbles upon her whilst hunting in the woods, he decides to capture and “civilize” her with the help of his seemingly perfect all-American family, including his wife Belle (Angela Bettis, May) and daughter Peggy (Lauren Ashley Carter, Darling). The Cleeks will soon learn, however, that hell hath no fury like The Woman scorned…

Experience McKee and Ketchum’s uncompromisingly twisted vision of the dark side of the American family in a definitive new edition, including a 4K remaster, brand new bonus features, and a bonus disc featuring a brand new restoration of its gut-churning 2009 predecessor Offspring, also starring McIntosh.

I See You Blu-ray cover art

I SEE YOU (2019) | Blu-ray | 25 May 2020 | £19.99

Up-and-coming British director Adam Randall (iBoy) returns with his new twist-heavy thriller I See You, described by the Hollywood Reporter as “a finely crafted exercise in slow-burn suspense”.

Behind the seemingly perfect Harper household, Greg (Jon Tenney, True Detective), the lead investigator of a child abduction case, is struggling to come to terms with the recent infidelity of his wife Jackie (Academy Award winner Helen Hunt, As Good As It Gets). The already strained family harmony is further threatened when Connor (Judah Lewis, The Babysitter), their son, appears to be the victim of a mysterious malevolent presence in their house.
