Jackie Chan's Crime Story on Collector's Edition UHD/Blu-ray in June

17 May 2025

88 Films has announced that it will be releasing Jackie Chan's 1993 action crime drama Crime Story (Jung on zo) on 4K in a UHD/Blu-ray Collector's Edition in June, sourced from a new 4K remaster and boasting a sizeable collection of special features.

Troubled Hong Kong CID inspector Eddie Chan (Jackie Chan) is assigned to oversee the safety of controversial businessman Wong Yat-Fei (Law Kar-Ying), who is then kidnapped. A major investigation is launched and leads to Taipei and back to Hong Kong but, unbeknownst to Chan - his new partner, Inspector Hung (Kent Cheng) is an accomplice to the crime, throwing the authorities off the trail.

Loosely based on the true-life story of twice kidnapped millionaire Teddy Wang, the film was originally intended to star Jet Li, but while the film was in pre-production, Li's agent Jim Choy was shot dead by the Triads, which saw Li sour at the idea of making a film about organised crime.
